Let's get to know each other!

I was just sitting here and trying to think of something to blog about (to keep this blog up and running). And, well, I just couldn't really think of anything specific to the Jonesboro area. So, I decided to tell you all a little about me. My family and I moved here in February due to my husband finding a job here. We moved from Memphis, TN. Not a huge move, but its definitely different. I had to quit my job when we made the move and since being here, I haven't found a new one. I'm currently looking for a receptionist job or a Medical Office front desk position (if any of you happen to know of anything.) I will be trying out some of the temp agencies soon. My husband and I have 2 kids. 7 year old boy and 2 year old girl. I am loving being at home with them right now! I basically spend my days doing laundry, dishes, looking online for jobs and other ways to make money (legit ways). Currently I participate with Swagbucks and a few other survey sites. It took me a long time to figure out which survey sites are the real ones and the ones that pay well! For anyone interested Swagbucks is basically a search engine, like google. You can search things just like you would with any other search engine, but the difference is you can occasionally win "swagbucks". You save these swagbucks for things you can cash out for. I save mine until the end of the year and then redeem for Amazon gift cards to use for Christmas. There are plenty of other ways to earn Swagbucks too, but I wont go into all that (unless you ask). If interested in joining google it, and look up some reviews, and then you can use this link. It is going to take a while to get use to things here. Like I said not much different, but still takes time adjusting. As far as missing things, Jonesboro really has everything Memphis has except a few stores. To name a few that I've noticed: Toys R Us, Rite Aid, Burlington Coat Factory, Macy's and Aldi's. I have noticed things are so much easier here. Getting utilities and gas turned on was cake. Getting my son in school was cake. Getting tags and license was in and out. There weren't any lines anywhere we went. I do love that. Oh, and at Walmart, they always have multiple lanes open to check out...not in Memphis. It's the little things in life that count, right? Anyways, enough about me. Leave me some comments and tell me about yourself. Let's get to know each other!

Just an update..

I really wanted this blog and Facebook page to take off and really become a place for people to go for information on events and things happening in Jonesboro. To do this though, I really need everyone's help. I am new to the area, and still learning my way around. I am finding websites with information but as we all know, word of mouth can travel fast. If you hear of things happening, let me know. Is there something going on that makes you wonder...ask,lets see if we can figure it out. Let's help each other! Also, I started another page. It's also for the Jonesboro area. I found out about this website from another blog who started one for their neighborhood. Thought I would give it a try. Nextdoor-Jonesboro
